Work/Education: He came to Halifax from Falmouth, NS 25 years ago to attend Dalhousie University. He worked various full and part-time jobs to support himself through university, eventually finding a job with the city of Halifax. He has worked for the city of Halifax and then HRM for over 20 years in just about every shop in the public works division.
Community Activities: He is a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where he has served as armour bearer for Pastor Lennett J. Anderson, member in the Emmanuel Baptist Men's choir, a church usher and as a volunteer for a number of other roles. He has served as Vice-president of Unit 1 (outside workers) for Cupe Local 108.
He has served on many committees throughout his employment and for the union. He has been able to help a few small businesses, the rails to trails people in our area, and the teams on which his son, Nicholas has played (his son represented Nova Scotia once again in soccer nationals). He has participated in the HRM by Design public forum. He continues to be a supporter of diversity through the many cultural organizations in HRM.
Electoral History
Municipal: He ran for the school board in 2004 - placed a respectable second. In the 2007, he ran in the union elections - won the office of vice-president of unit 1.
